Contact the seller! Description Up for auction is a very original and rare Yamaha YZ motocross bike. Only of these were made and halfway through the year Yamaha switched to the monoshock so this is the last twin shock YZ made. It runs great and shifts great, the brakes work good both front and back, the rear shocks work perfect but do leak a little and the forks are clean but will need new seals and oil.
The only problems that really stand out on the bike are a very badly bent front wheel and the tabs that the gas tank straps hook to on the front of the frame are broke off. If you are looking to restore one of these you will not find a better candidate and if you want race one it will take very little to make it race ready.
The frame and engine numbers are matching also. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I will write you a bill of sale if needed. Sold as-is no warranty. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements.
I can store the bike for a period of time as long as its paid in full. Good luck! Update: I had a YZ chassis and pulled the front wheel off it and its a perfect fit, just had to switch spacers so the front wheel is no longer an issue!

This bike comes equipped with cc, two stroke, liquid-cooled engine since Small bikes can provide big fun, and the best way to test this truth is to ride the YZ A brawny cc liquid-cooled 2-stroke engine delivers more punch than you'd expect, and manual 5-speed transmission provides excellent control across then whole rpm range.
This model year received fork and swingarm revisions, structural strengthening and engine tweak including new carburetor settings for increased responsiveness. Add in lighter brakes and high-performance Excel rims for a bike that's made for winning at the track. Some believe that small-displacement bikes are dull, but if they took a ride aboard the Yamaha YZ, they'd most likely change their minds in a matter of minutes.
Built around a bulletproof cc liquid-cooled 2-stroke lump, the YZ is a great step toward the high-performance machines, offering a great basis for solid training ahead of the real deal. Kayaba suspensions, top-notch disc brakes, a high-adherence seat cover, beefy 48mm forks, titanium foot pegs and many more top-drawer features are present to create the best training conditions for the future champs.
The YZ gets a lot of revisions and updates, including more tweaking for the 1-year-old all-new lump and a new silver paint job. Yamha came up with an all-new aluminum frame for the previous model year, and it has now received a new hydro-formed swingarm, new triple clamps and new adjustable handlebars. The Kayaba forks are also new, while the rear suspension got a matching revision.
Brakes have also been updated. The MY Yamaha YZ is laden with upgraded features and carries on the heritage of its family as a high-performance small-displacement, entry-point 2-stroke bike. Multiple parts have received improvements, from the fork tube coating and valving to the piggyback rear monocross damper with a titanium spring, the new swingarm, Taper Pro bars, and improved rear subframe.
One of the lightest competition cc 2-stroke machines on the market, the MY YZ is a natural stage in becoming a champion, and an exceptional intermediate bike before taking on the big-bore MX monsters. Ultra lightweight, packing more punch than meets the eye and with sharp handling, the MY YZ greets riders with a new aluminum frame, a very compact engine and multiple revisions in all the departments.
A new intake manifold was designed for better performance, while more high-rev power is now available. An adjustable clutch is standard, just like the aluminum cradle, triple clamps, swingarm, and the adjustable handlebar mounts.
Speed-sensitive Kayaba suspensions add unprecedented precision to your riding, while the recent tweaks help for more precise cornering, too.

The stop-gap item was never meant to be used for production, and yet when the first YZs hit American shores, they did so with the tank halters in place. The YZA replaced the AT-1MX that had been introduced in and was really enduro machine converted for motocross work at the factory.Packer vmware uefi
With the purpose-built YZA, aspiring motocross heroes now had a machine that could run with the best in the class, namely the Honda CR Elsinore. You can check out a video that documents the development of the ground-breaking design below. Thus the YZB was basically a YZA painted yellow and black, beginning the legacy of Yamaha YZ color schemes that we wish the company still used for its YZ models today fortunately, we do get those colors back every 10 years when Yamaha releases an anniversary model.
In at least two magazine tests, YZBs failed due to faulty idler gears. But Yamaha knew it had a class killer coming in the YZC, which featured Tilkiens revolutionary rear suspension design, now known as the Monocross, a faster engine and better all-around reliability, paving the way for increasingly better cc motocross machines from all of the Japanese manufacturers, who quickly left the Euro cc models in the dust.
